Predicting the reverberation time in rectangular rooms with non-uniform absorption distribution

چکیده

This paper proposes a new approach for modelling and predicting the reverberation time in rectangular rooms with non-uniform absorption distribution. The model considers three separate decays room dimensions fourth decay diffuse field. sum of four decays’ RMS-sound pressure values lead to total curve, from which is obtained. Moreover, takes into account coefficients, empirical scattering coefficients at each surface lateral sound side walls. In uniform distribution, calculated times are similar those computed by Eyring’s formula (C.F. Eyring: Reverberation Time “Dead” Rooms. Journal Acoustical Society America Volume 1 (1930), p 168). modeled lengthened, consistent measurements previous studies over whole frequency range. discusses comparison calculation measurement curves time, including other well-known simple prediction models.
